The project begins 1,700 feet west of the existing Grant Line Road-White Rock Road intersection, where White Rock Road will be realigned to intersect with Grant Line Road approximately 600 feet south of the existing intersection.
The Sacramento County Department of Transportation recently broke ground on construction for the White Rock Road Improvement Project.
White Rock Road currently serves commuters as well as local traffic between Rancho Cordova, Folsom, El Dorado Hills, the Sacramento County unincorporated area and beyond.
The White Rock Road Improvement project will construct significant improvements along one stretch of the roadway from Grant Line Road to Prairie City Road. DeSilva Gates Construction was awarded the contract at the May 8 Sacramento Board of Supervisors meeting.
The road will be widened to two lanes in each direction with paved shoulders and a raised landscaped median. The widening will conclude approximately 1,500 feet east of the White Rock Road-Prairie City Road intersection.
Almost two miles of White Rock Road will be realigned between the new intersection of Grant Line Road-White Rock Road and intersection of White Rock Road-Prairie City Road. The Grant Line Road and Prairie City Road intersections will be widened to accommodate turning lanes and new traffic signals.
The construction contract for this project is $8.5 million, and is funded with Proposition 1B state bond program funds and Sacramento County Transportation Development Fees.
