Opinion - Penn Plan of Desperation for Lotus & Cool
Now, let's see, to paraphrase Howard Penn, he is on probation for driving after having some wine with a NyQuil chaser and missing that big red Stop sign (I am glad my grandchildren were not in the neighborhood). He wants the keys to my car, oops, no, he wants the keys to the County Board of Supervisors.
Howard put out a desperation hit piece on Michael Ranalli saying Michael is trying to get 33,000 more houses approved for El Dorado County (see www.edcarp.org). Howard must know that that is not true but in the political spirit of Bay Area leftist desperation Howard puts out his hit piece anyway.
Howard should have attended more of the Regulatory Reform meetings, with the other 300 volunteers, but maybe he was just too busy with his old tax liens to spend the time. If he had attended, he would know that there are 17,500 new homes remaining to be built under the General Plan by 2035 with or without Measure M or Measure O. If Measure M passes however, it will eliminate the Measure Y fees to pay for road improvements (remember Howard is a signature to "Fix Highway 50 First", not "Fix the roads in Lotus & Cool First"), just Potholes and No Open Space for The Divide.
Howard we forgive you for making a mistake and we understand that you need time to understand the complicated document called the General Plan, however, it is time you start to dig in and quote chapter and verse to get your points across. Darn shame that the General Plan doesn't support your message.
