After Months of Limited Duty, Judge Nelson Keith Brooks Retires

Announcing the retirement of Judge Nelson Keith Brooks:

Presiding Judge Suzanne N Kingsbury extends the best washes of the Court to Judge Nelson Keith Brooks on his retirement. Judge Brooks began his judicial career on March 26, 2009 as an appointee of then Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. While serving on the Superior Court Bench, Judge Brooks presiding over the Family Law, Civil, and Juvenile divisions before concluding his career in PlacerviIle's criminal pretrial department 7. The Court wishes to thank Judge Brooks for his many contributions to the effective delivery of justice for the County of El Dorado During this time of shrinking judicial budgets, he worked diligently to identify areas where expenses could be minimized, while still improving the Courts service to our community, eliminating unnecessary, duplicative and resource consuming court appearances He succeeded in implementing a new, streamlined system for requesting necessary appearances directly through the Court's website. saving defendants and thee attorneys costly in•person appearances for the sole purpose of selecting a hearing date
