Roseville Woman Sentenced for Fraud including El Dorado Hills Home

Senior U.S. District Judge Garland E. Burrell Jr. sentenced Alla Samchuk, 45, of Roseville, to nine and a half years in prison for a mortgage fraud scheme and obstruction of justice, U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced.

A federal jury returned a verdict in August 2016 finding her guilty of six counts of bank fraud, six counts of making a false statement to a financial institution, one count of money laundering, and one count of aggravated identity theft.

Former South Tahoe Fire Captain Sentenced to 10 Years for Child Porn

On Friday Mark McLeod Wygant was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the crime of transporting child pornography.   

Wygant has been in custody since his arrest on January 29, 2015.  Four cameras were seized from the defendant’s vehicle on January 29, 2015.

According to court documents, between 2011 and 2012 Wygant secretly filmed a child on multiple occasions with the use of a hidden cell phone and hidden "spy cameras" that he had purchased for that purpose.
