Naming of Facilities at Ponderosa High School Underway

The Board of Trustees for El Dorado Union High School District received two suggestions for naming facilities at Ponderosa High School. The Board created an Ad Hoc Committee to review the suggestions and to come back with a recommendation.

Board policy states: “The Governing Board will not consider names which are associated with or represent values contrary to the district’s philosophy and goals.” The naming process may include recognition of the following:

Working throughout the nation to stop government overspending, the National Tax Limitation Committee PAC has endorsed two candidates in El Dorado County; Bill George a retired IBM systems manager for the Board of Directors in EID’s Division 3, and Chuck Smith a retired corporate executive from the packaging industry for the EID Board of Directors in Division 5.  The endorsement notifications came by personal telephone calls from National Tax Limitation Committee PAC President Lew Uhler, a resident of nearby Roseville, to the two campaigns individually.
