The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office is looking for anyone who may have been a victim of a man who exposed himself to young girls at local ski resorts. We have received three different reports that occurred at both Heavenly Ski Resort and Sierra at Tahoe between April and May of 2017.

The North Lake Tahoe Sheriff’s Office received several reports on April 8 of a man, identified as Wellington Harned Potter, 34, of San Jose, riding up to young girls on his snowboard at one of the Vail Resorts and flashing them, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said.

BLM Fire Restrictions Temporarily Increased to Stage 2

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Mother Lode Field Office is temporarily increasing fire restrictions for public lands to Stage 2, effective July 27, with the exception to portable stove use with a California campfire permit. The additional temporary fire restrictions will be in place until further notice.

The Mother Lode Field Office boundaries include all or portions of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Mariposa, Merced, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tuolumne, and Yuba counties.
