Teen Court in Placerville Invites New Participants

El Dorado County students in grades 8 to 12 are invited to take an active role in the juvenile justice system through the Teen Court program.  New Teen Court participant training will be conducted on August 17, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in El Dorado County Superior Court, located at 495 Main Street in Placerville. After completing this training, teens will serve as court personnel for real cases in which a minor has committed an offense, admitted to that offense and chosen to be judged by his/her peers.

New Morning Youth & Family Services is excited to announce that our agency was one of 18 agencies to receive funding from the UNSERVED/UNDERSERVED VICTIM ADVOCACY AND OUTREACH PROGRAM. New Morning will receive $350,000 over two years.
This Program will focus on service delivery to victims of crime within unserved/underserved and socially isolated populations. In addition, it is designed to fund the awareness and to improve knowledge about accessing local services available to crime victims.

One of California’s favorite vocalist Lauren Murphy returns from Alabama to El Dorado County for a concert at Crystal Basin Cellars, 3590 Carson Road in Camino on Friday, July 15 from 6-8:30 p.m. Murphy will be appearing with Lisa Bond.

Murphy will play four shows in California with two in the county named for her most recent release “El Dorado.” It went viral on social media and has received rave reviews on both the local and national scene.
