Explore some of the area’s richest history on May 6 for Clarksville Region Historical Society’s Clarksville Day.

This free family event will take you back in history to the 1800s with Clarksville Cemetery tours, Pony Express and Mormon Battalion demonstrations, gold panning, railroad exhibits, old west shoot-outs, old-time photography and more. 

The event will also include dated fire trucks, stagecoaches, classic cars including model As and Ts from the 1940s and 50s.

Placerville Road Closed for 30 days Starting Wednesday May 3

Placerville Road from Highway 50 to White Rock Road is scheduled to be closed for 30 days starting Wednesday, May 3. Scott Road will be available as a detour. This work marks the start of an 18-month schedule of infrastructure and road improvements south of Highway 50 in the Folsom Plan Area.

Burning Activity at Pine Hill Preserve near El Dorado Hills announced by BLM

In the coming weeks, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will start burning small brush piles to get rid of fire fuel to improve public safety, and as a result, residents of the Cameron Park area near the BLM Pine Hill Preserve may start seeing and smelling smoke.  The prescribed burning will start in May and will continue as weather conditions allow.
