The Aug. 31 event will take place on the Nevada lake's South Shore, a backdrop the president's remarks will focus on as he underscores a commitment to addressing climate change and preserving the country's natural treasures for future generations.

One Georgetown man Died, Another Injured in Tuesday Crash on 193

One Georgetown man died and another driver was injured Tuesday afternoon in a collision on Highway 193  reported at 3:13 p.m. just east of Cool in El Dorado County acording to a CHP Report.

Officer Brent McElmurry, a California Highway Patrol spokesman, said a blue Subaru Forester was eastbound on the two-lane highway when it drifted into the westbound lane, into the path of a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The Subaru collided with the left front of the pickup and the pickup went over an embankment on the north side of the highway. The truck landed on its roof on a dirt road below.

Ninth Circuit Court Sets Precedence with Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Case

Placerville, CA – Monday, the Ninth Circuit held in a precedential opinion that the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians did not waive its sovereign immunity by removing into federal court a state court dispute brought by a former employee of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians’ Health and Wellness Center.

Following the Eleventh Circuit, the panel held that the act of removal does not express the clean and unequivocal waiver that is required for a tribe to relinquish its immunity.

This past weekend 3 PPD SHIELD volunteer cars were spray painted with graffiti causing damage to the vehicles. The Placerville Police Department SHIELD (Seniors Helping In Enforcement Like Duties) Program, is a volunteer program for Seniors over the age of 50. A SHIELD volunteer helps to establish unity and interaction between the community and the police department and enhances the police department’s ability to provide quality service to the City of Placerville.
