SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — Tahoe Dive Center owner Matt Meunier and Clean Up the Lake founder Colin West plan to spend nearly four months scuba diving around the lake, all while picking up garbage — an undertaking they are hoping will be the biggest cleanup in Tahoe’s history.

<El Dorado County Sheriff's Office>

On September 29, EDSO Deputies responded for a welfare check on an elderly male who was worried about his wife and hadn’t been eating well.

Deputies arrived, made him breakfast and cleaned his dishes. Our new friend, Dan, was able to get in touch with his wife at the hospital, and learned she was doing fine.

Dan gave the Deputies some life advise too. “To always care for your significant other and to live in the moment. “ Wise words, indeed.

Dan, it was a pleasure to make your acquaintance!

My first backpacking trip in South Lake Tahoe.

This photo is of Dick’s lake in desolation wilderness. It was a long uphill climb of 7 miles from eagle falls in South Lake Tahoe.

We stayed the night here right on the waters edge. Definitely worth it this time of year. It got a little chilly at night, and campfires were prohibited, but we had enough layers and the sunrise was worth it.
