Sheriff John D'Agostini and various candidates will be participating in a candidates forum, hosted by the El Dorado County State of Jefferson (SOJ) Committee, on Tuesday, October 9, at the American Legion Hall, 4561 Greenstone Road, in Placerville. The doors will open at 5:30 for social hour & when one can also sit down and talk to SOJ committee members, for a one on one about the State of Jefferson and Citizens for Fair Representation, who has a lawsuit against Secretary of State Alex Padilla, now being heard in Federal Court.

Participating at the forum,  are the four El Dorado Irrigation District candidates, Pat Dwyer & Greg Prada, District 2 and Dale Coco & Lori Anzini District 4. Also participating are Todd White & Janelle Horne, candidates for County Recorder Clerk. Sheriff John D'Agostini, will discuss the Cannabis Measures on the County ballot, N, P, Q, R and S.

There are several measures on this years county ballot, including Measure U, where the County Board of Supervisors is asking to have their two, 4-year term limits, extended to three, 4 year term limits, or 12 years.

Voter registration forms will also be available, for those who have yet to register to vote or need to re-register because they have moved or changed their name, since last voting. Young people who will turn 18 years of age, by November 6, may also register to vote, in their very first election.

The State of Jefferson is non partisan, but believes that this is one of the most important elections that Californian's have seen in decades, and urge all to be an informed voter. Know that Yes on 6, means the repeal of the Gas Tax & Car Tax. Know that in 2022 Californian's will be facing water rationing, already approved by those in the Brown Administration & State Legislature Democrats, who are looking to impose a water tax and cell phone tax, on California taxpayers. Not to mention repeal of Prop 13.

State of Jefferson meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month, same time & location.  Desserts & beverages will be available at the October 9 meeting, as will Jefferson gear. Visit SOJ51.org for more information and click on El Dorado Committee.
