P'ville CHP re High Speed Pursuit - "Best trained law enforcement drivers in the world"

Last Wednesday night, Placerville CHP Officer J. George was on patrol, eastbound US 50 near El Dorado Road when he observed a high speed vehicle traveling westbound US 50.

Officer George was able to get the black late model Chevrolet Corvette stopped east of Ponderosa Road. Officer George detected symptoms of alcohol impairment on the driver and conducted a field sobriety test. 

The driver was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. (23152(a) & 23152(b) of the California Vehicle Code)

King Fire Arsonist Pleads Guilty announces District Attorney

District Attorney Vern Pierson announces the felony convictions of Wayne Allen Huntsman, the arsonist responsible for the 97,000 acre King Fire.  Today, the Defendant pled guilty to three counts of Arson to Forest Land, admitted multiple enhancements for causing injury to firefighters and destruction of multiple structures, was ordered to pay over $60,000,000 in victim restitution, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

[by Adam Jensen]  South Lake Tahoe police and city attorney Tom Watson will craft new regulations surrounding massage businesses in South Lake Tahoe in coming weeks.

The South Lake Tahoe City Council directed Police Chief Brian Uhler and Watson to draft a new ordinance after hearing a presentation by detective Jeff Roberson and receiving public comment from several people in the massage industry at council’s Tuesday meeting. The proposed rules will come before the South Lake Tahoe City Council for possible approval at a future meeting.
