El Dorado Hills Pilot takes Third at 2016 Reno Air Races
Third place in the National Championship Air Races’ showcase event went to Brian Sanders of El Dorado Hills, California, flying the Hawker Sea Fury Dreadnought. The veteran racer has five second-place finishes in the airplane. “I would trade all of those for one first [place],” Sanders told the Reno Gazette-Journal.

Revered Winemaker Returns to Form
Chuck was also excited to talk about other projects, including making Cinsault and his “Isabelle” Cabernet Sauvignon, which was aged for 30 months in oak. His wish list includes producing an El Dorado County Riesling, the grape he first worked with more than 30 years ago as assistant winemaker at J. Lohr Winery.

3 adults rescued from Lake Tahoe after boat takes on water
The U.S. Coast Guard rescued three people on Lake Tahoe at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon after their boat began taking on water.  A distress call was received shortly after 3 p.m. that the 25-foot vessel “JUST ENOUGH” was taking on water near the California/Nevada border of the South Shore, according to a statement from the Coast Guard.

Local brewery calls off expansion
El Dorado Hills-based Mraz Brewing Co. has halted its plan to open a location in Folsom.  This past spring, the brewery confirmed plans to fill an anchor spot in a new brewhouse-centered project at 13407 Folsom Blvd. It would have been the second location for Mraz, which opened in El Dorado Hills in 2013.
