Deadline Nears for El Dorado Hills Arts Association Scholarship

El Dorado Hills Arts Association offers a scholarship to a graduating senior attending any high school within El Dorado County who is planning to pursue an arts education at any accredited institution of higher learning. This includes studies in fine art, sculpture, drawing, painting and digital, computer-based photography. A $1,000 scholarship will be offered to one student for the current year.

The EDHAA Scholarship is offered to inspire and support talented young artists in their pursuit of excellence in art.

The application must be postmarked by March 31. Award Amount: $1,000.00

Portfolio Presentation: Mid-April

The EDHAA Scholarship is offered to inspire and support talented young artists in their pursuit of excellence in art. Toward this effort, EDHAA offers a scholarship to a graduating senior attending any high school within El Dorado County who is planning to pursue an arts education to any accredited institution of higher learning. This includes studies in fine art, sculpture, drawing, painting, as well as digital, computer-based photography. A $1000 scholarship will be offered to one student for the current year.

 

Scholarship Requirements

 

  • Must be a graduating senior attending a high school in El Dorado County.
  • Must submit a completed application. 
  • Must submit a student resume’. 
  • Must submit two letters of recommendation. 
  • Must submit a copy of student’s transcript. 
  • Must submit a written, personal statement of the student’s educational goals (300-500 word maximum) to be expressed, verbally, to the Selection Committee in April. 
  • Must deliver and present a personal portfolio to the Selection Committee in April. 

 

     

    Additional Processing and School Specific Information

     

    The completed application including the above requirements must be postmarked by March 31, 2016.

    PORTFOLIO PRESENTATION: Mid-April

    After the application and supporting documents have been received and reviewed, the selection committee will contact the student and set up the portfolio presentation time. 

    The personal portfolio and statement must be presented by the student, in person, to the El Dorado Hills Art Association Scholarship Selection Committee.  The portfolio 8-10 smaples of your art work that have been created over the past 2 years.  Art work should be neatly presented, 2D pieces should be matted or framed, and any 3D work, if too large, can be presented by photos but some smaller works should be presented; please provide a convenient support. 

    Scholarship will be awarded in May (to coordinate with the EDHAA membership meeting) and the scholarship winner will exhibit their work at a location to be determined.  The student recipient will receive scholarship monies upon receipt of enrollment verification from the educational institution.
