Disaster Council Quarterly Meeting June 9, 2016

by Placerville Newswire / Jun 02, 2016 / comments

El Dorado County Operational Area Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is consistent with the requirements found in the California Emergency Services Act Standardized Emergency Management System which requires counties and all individual jurisdictions and special districts within a county to function as one unit from an emergency resource allocation and coordination standpoint. The City of Placerville maintains a seat on the County Local Area Disaster Council (LADC).

Disasters are large emergencies, which exceed local capabilities in either responding to or recovering from the event. The impact may be such that it will require all city and/or county operations to function under an emergency management structure for days or perhaps weeks. During such events the City and/or County will be expected to respond effectively to the emergency at hand, yet maintain essential city and county services.
