El Dorado County Sheriff's Office and ABC Control work together to Stop Underage Drinking

by Placerville Newswire / Feb 23, 2016 / comments

El Dorado County Sheriff's Deputies and an Agent with the Department of Alcohol Beverage Control conducted a Minor Decoy (shoulder tap) and a minor decoy alcohol purchase operation today in El Dorado County.

The operation is conducted to see that local businesses are staying in compliance and checking for identification to confirm that the customer purchasing alcohol is 21 years of age. We are happy to report that in all the businesses that were checked, there was not a single one that sold alcohol to our minor decoys.

The shoulder tap operation concluded with two citations issued for adults over the age of 21 that purchased alcohol for our minor decoys. One of the subjects was also cited for possession of methamphetamine.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office takes under aged drinking very seriously. Please talk to your children about the seriousness and consequences of this topic. We appreciate our community's support on this.
