El Dorado Rose Candidates Sought

El Dorado County has received local, state and national recognition for the unusual and unique contest honoring the mature woman. Women in El Dorado County are recognized with the title of El Dorado Rose.

The woman chosen as the Rose represents the county in a variety of events during her year as Rose. The Rose and Rose Court attend openings of new businesses, parades, ribbon cuttings and help to promote El Dorado County.

Once again the El Dorado Rose Corporation is seeking candidates for the 2016-17 El Dorado Rose.  A Non-Profit Organization, ED Roses are chosen at the County Fair as mature ladies who have given to community service as volunteers. In Victorian dress, to represent our County's history at many events.

Requirements to be a Rose candidate are: be at least 60 years of age or older, have lived in El Dorado County for at least 10 years and have contributed non-career years of community service as a volunteer.

The year is a fun and fulfilling time for all candidates according to all the Roses and Rose Court members.
