Eloa Kroeker 1923-2017


Eloa Imogene Kroeker, Cameron Park, California 
January 24, 1923 - June 7, 2017 

Eloa Imogene Kroeker, a resident of Placerville for 15 years, passed on to glory to be with God on Wednesday morning, June 7, 2017. She died of natural causes in her home at Eskaton Lodge Cameron Park, California where she was surrounded by her husband of 75 years, Orvil Kroeker; her son, Ken and wife Patty, and was gently and lovingly nursed by all of the employees of Eskaton Lodge.

Eloa's funeral will be Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Cold Springs Church, 2600 Cold Springs Road, Placerville, California at 1:00 p.m.

She was born January 24, 1923 in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. After the dust bowl in South Dakota, she and her family moved to Bakersfield, California in 1938. She graduated from Bakersfield High School, where she met and later married Orvil Kroeker on November 30, 1941. She worked for a time at Kern County Health Department as a stenographer and after her two sons, Ken and Jim, were born, she stayed at home being a full time mother. 

She loved the Lord dearly putting Him first in her life and always seeking his wisdom. Throughout her life she served Him through many ministries at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Bakersfield where she was a Junior High Sunday School teacher for many years and was active in Bible Study Fellowship and Christian Women's Club. She is a member of Cold Springs Church in Placerville where she was active in Woman's Bible Study and hosted a Seniors Life Group. Eloa truly loved life and always surrounded herself with family. 

Eloa is survived by her husband, Orvil; her son Ken (Patty) Kroeker of Camino, California, and Jim Kroeker, of Orangevale, California; six grandchildren, Keri (Dave) Stallions of Applegate, California; Bryan (Kelly) Kroeker of Placerville, California; Jason (Kelli) Hunter of Placerville, California; Krissie (Adrian) Heym of Chico, California; Jake (Em) Kroeker of Sacramento, California; and Chris Schultize of South Lake Tahoe, California; seven great grandchildren, Luke and Dylan Stallions, Bryson and Hailey Kroeker, Jocelyn Hunter, Meya and Ryan Heym.
