Few Details on Man Shot to Death at Hotel in South Lake Tahoe

2016-01-31, 07:25:10 PLACERVILLE CA Detectives are investigating the incident and believe this was not a random act of violence. “We don’t have a suspect in custody right now,” Sgt. Travis Cabral told Lake Tahoe News. “Right now we have two or more suspects involved.” A man died after being shot at a hotel in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., on Saturday night, according to a release from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department. At about 7:42 p.m., several people called 911 to report shots being fired at the Beverly Lodge, 34780 South Lake Tahoe Blvd., according to the release. Upon arriving, officers found a man on the ground outside of the hotel rooms who had been shot. A responding EMS unit transported the man to the hospital where he died within a few minutes of arrival. Sgt. Travis Cabral said the man, whose name, age and hometown have not been released, was not staying at the hotel. The SLTPD has several officers and detectives working on various leads, according to the release. Additionally, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department is assisting with crime scene processing and the California Highway Patrol is assisting with scene security and the investigation.
