The maximum amount of funds available for contracted services in this grant is $147,450.00.

The El Dorado County Fire Safe Council (FSC) has received grant funding from CALFIRE under the State Responsibility Area Fire Prevention Fund (SRAFPF) program.  The purpose of this grant is to plan and perform strategic fuels reduction to reduce the threat of catastrophic wildland fire within the vicinity of Sly Park, California.

This project entails removing un-merchantable sized trees and brush to create a Perimeter Fuel Reduction Zone. The shaded fuel break will be constructed by combination of treatments to include mechanical, hand crews utilizing hand tools.  The type of treatment will depend on topographic variables, vegetation cover, and abilities of contractor. The objective of the treatment is to reduce surface and ladder fuels and to protect resources from a wildfire.

Proposal requirements and additional information can be obtained on the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council website at: RFP PP-1 or by contacting the Project Coordinator.
