GDPUD Director Cynthia Garcia Resigns Today

[Cynthia Garcia]
Sometimes you must let go of a dream in order to do your duty.

It is with great regret that I must convey my resignation to the GDPUD Board of Directors effective upon the close of the February 9, 2021, board meeting.

My mother has suddenly become quite infirmed and I must now care for her full time.  I simply cannot spread myself so thin as to try and do justice to both the GDPUD Community, and my Family.  My Mother expressed a wish to be closer to her sister in Florida, so we are moving there very shortly.

I have lived and worked here for more than 32 years and it has been my honor and privilege to have been called into Public Service. Serving the Community was how I had planned to spend my retirement. I had hoped I could stay but sadly, I cannot.

I wish you, all of you, my very best, with a heavy heartfelt farewell.
