South Lake Tahoe, CA, February 24, 2017 – The Lake Tahoe Relay crew is preparing for another awesome race which is only 4 months away, taking place on June 10, 2017. New this year, participants will kick off the 2017 event in fashion with the starting line at the Tahoe Beach Retreat!

Moving Start/Finish to the Beach!

The Lake Tahoe Relay is about embracing the full splendor of one of the greatest alpine lakes in the world. With the start/finish line moving to the Tahoe Beach Retreat location, participants can dangle their sore feet in the water and relax. This will be the first of its kind in the U.S. and most likely the world! We’re looking forward to working with the Tahoe Beach Retreat team for this exciting enhancement to our runners’ experience.

A Bonfire!

Lake Tahoe is all about connecting with nature. What’s the best way to do that after a long day of running? A bonfire! For the first time ever, the Lake Tahoe Relay will build a bonfire as part of the post party celebration.

What’s the Lake Tahoe Relay?

It’s a relay race or “party” that consists of teams of 7, each running approx. 8 – 12 miles around the scenic and beautiful Lake Tahoe. If you’re looking for a bigger challenge, don’t worry –  we’ve got you covered! This year we’ll also be offering a single runner 72-mile Ultra marathon and 2-runner teams’ 72-mile relays. That’s a serious relay! Each team member will run 36 miles, alternating legs as needed.

Registration is now open: If you want more information about this event, please contact Sean at (530) 545-0509 or email
