by Placerville Newswire / Feb 26, 2016 / comments

Diane Hawks notes that Foothill Integrative Veterinary Service and Equestrian Center, a new veterinarian, is coming to Fair Play.

The location in Somerset is new, but the veterinarian, not so much.  The UCD educated veterinarian has been in practice for 27 years. Dr. Marc Malek is proud of the expansion from his Auburn practice, Foothill Farms Veterinary Hospital.  Foothill Farms Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1963 by Dr. Lloyd Beal and functioned as both a large and small animal hospital. Dr. Marc Malek took charge of this family oriented practice in 1994 and has kept the atmosphere personal while expanding the spectrum of services available.

The company website says: "High quality medical and surgical capabilities along with state of the art diagnostic and monitoring equipment allow us to treat your pet as you yourself could be treated. Our caring staff strives to keep your family members as comfortable as possible whether recovering from surgery, being treated for a medical problem, receiving preventative care, or simply sleeping over while you are away. The doctors and staff at Foothill Farms Veterinary Hospital treat your family like our family. We strive to provide the best care possible while staying approachable, understandable, and available."

Now Dr. Marc Malek is opening the Foothill Integrative Veterinary Service and Equestrian Center in the south county communites of Fair Play and Somerset in El Dorado County.

The new Large Animal facility has a Facebook website and the Dr. has posted this welcome message:

"We are excited at the prospect of opening Foothill Integrative Veterinary Service and Equestrian Center in Spring of 2016! The dream of having a multi-species integrative practice and equestrian center in the foothills is soon to manifest. We plan to provide the best in Veterinary supervised boarding for all types of horses. We will have a 220' X 75' indoor arena catering to dressage enthusiasts with 75' of mirrors. Long term layups or daily/weekly intensives are welcome."

Dr. Malek and staff will be also be offering a multispecies housecall service based out of the Fairplay/Somerset equestrian center.
