New Morning's "Battle of the Badges - 911 Cook-Off"

New Morning Youth & Family Services is excited to announce our biggest fundraiser and community assembly of the year, “Battle of the Badges - 911 Cook Off” at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in the Forni Building on February 24, 2018 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.  Join New Morning as we host our 1st Annual Battle of the Badges - 911 Cook-Off! Watch as First Responders battle it out to become the "Top Culinarian in EDC"! Taste test over 20 delectable soups, stews or chili. 

Enjoy live music from our local talent pool and beer and wine from our local distillerys and vineyards. We will also have local vendors.

This grand event will include our county’s First Responder’s “Battling” it out for the “Best Culinarian in El Dorado County” trophy.  Firefighters, Police, Armed Forces, Hospital Staff, Sheriff Department, DSA, Band of Miwok Indian Tribe Police Department and many more will gather to cook soup’s, stew’s and chili’s.
Guests will taste-test, help choose the "People’s Choice Award" and “Most Creative Booth”, enjoy local beers and wines, visit local business booths and enjoy live music and entertainment. Our celebrity judges; EDC Auditor/Controller Joe Harn, Assemblyman Frank Bigelow, Assemblyman Kevin Kylie, Russell Okubo (Owner/Chef Aji Japanese Bistro), John Sanders (Owner/Chef Old Town Grill and Smith Flat House), & Joshua Varozza (Dudeoir fame & Joshua Varozza Bail Bonds) will choose the winners. 

This is a one of a kind event in our county joining Police, Fire, Army, Navy, don't miss it!

Tickets are $20 -- Under 12 and under is FREE

**Since 1970, New Morning has provided a safety net of services to youth and their families in El Dorado County. These services include the 24-hour Emergency Youth Shelter (the only one in El Dorado County) for homeless, abandoned and runaway youth; professional counseling services to children age birth – 18 (supporting children and youth who are victims of abuse, struggling with alcohol and drug issues, experiencing trauma, and facing school failure; providing parent education; assisting youth who are aging out of foster care; and, providing Latino Outreach services to our Latino neighbors to help them become fully productive members of our community.
