TERRY L GHERARDI -- On January 9th, the new members of the El Dorado County Republican Central Committee (RCC), were sworn in by Recorder Clerk/Registrar of Voters, Bill Schultz. That same evening, RCC members voted to elect Todd White to serve as the 2017 Chairman.
The El Dorado County RCC is the elected body of the California Republican Party, and as such, the Chairman sits on the State's Chairman's Association and RCC delegates represent our County at state conventions, conferences, and often meetings with the Governor and State Legislature.
Each of the 5 County Supervisor Districts has anywhere from 2 to 6 elected representatives, who serve Republican's in each of their districts. There are also 4 ex-officios, who were appointed to represent, Congressman Tom McClintock, Senator Ted Gaines and Assemblyman Kevin Kiley. Assemblyman Frank Bigelow has yet to appoint someone to represent him on the RCC.
With the election of the new President and 115th Congress, optimism is running high with County Republicans. Plans are already underway for greater voter outreach, registration, as well as the formation of a Young Republican's group. The RCC joins the CRA, for the first 2017 event, with their annual Lincoln-Reagan Dinner, on February 9th, with guest speaker, KFBK Radio talk show host, Sheriff John McGinniss,an event, also attended by many of our Congressional, State, and County elected.
