100 lb Pot Deal Goes Bad & Leads To Death Of Amador Man During Tahoe Ambush

South Lake Tahoe, CA...At about 7:42 p.m Saturday, January 30th, 2016, police responded to investigate a homicide which occurred on the property of the Beverly Lodge in South Lake Tahoe (3480 South Lake Tahoe Boulevard). Upon arriving at the scene, responding Officers found a man who was shot on the ground outside of the rooms at the hotel. This victim has been identified as 40 year old Dennis Michael Wright Jr., a resident of Amador County California. Dennis Wright Jr. was shot at least once in the chest, and died of his sustained injuries at Barton Memorial Hospital. 

Blue Shield Eliminates 90 Jobs in El Dorado Hills

Blue Shield of California said Friday it has eliminated 140 jobs in El Dorado Hills and Rancho Cordova as it reconfigures its operations in the greater Sacramento area.

The cutbacks mean the health insurer employs around 1,950 workers combined at the two offices. Blue Shield also employs 30 workers at a small office in Sacramento.

2016-01-31, 07:25:10 PLACERVILLE CA Detectives are investigating the incident and believe this was not a random act of violence. “We don’t have a suspect in custody right now,” Sgt. Travis Cabral told Lake Tahoe News. “Right now we have two or more suspects involved.” A man died after being shot at a hotel in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., on Saturday night, according to a release from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department. At about 7:42 p.m., several people called 911 to report shots being fired at the Beverly Lodge, 34780 South Lake Tahoe Blvd., according to the release.
