On November 15, 2017, The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office was notified of threats made by a student, threatening the safety of Oak Ridge High School. Upon receiving this information School Resource Officers worked in conjunction with Oak Ridge High School and detectives to ensure the safety of our schools and determine if the threat was credible.  The suspect was identified and interviewed. Several witnesses were also identified and interviewed.

County Supervisors Approve Contract to Design and Build New Public Safety Facility

(PLACERVILLE, CA) – The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors yesterday unanimously approved a $49 million contract to design and build a new public safety facility which will centralize all Sheriff’s Office operations including administration and office space, a morgue, a shooting range, special operations and training and evidence storage.

SLT Fire Chief Jeff Meston wins Ed Bent Training Excellence Award

Chief Jeff Meston of South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue is the recipient of the Ed Bent Training Excellence Award in recognition of being the Outstanding Fire Instructor of the Year at the California Training Officers Symposium held this week in Fresno, California.

The award was created many years ago on behalf of Ed Bent for his contribution as a founding father of statewide training and curriculum for the California Fire Service.
