All high school students in the Fourth Congressional District are invited to participate in the Congressional Art Competition “An Artistic Discovery,” a nationwide high-school art competition sponsored by the Congressional Institute.  The 2016 theme for the Fourth Congressional District is “American Exceptionalism.”

The last GOP debate before Super Tuesday is in the can. Co-hosted by CNN and Telemundo, it was viewed by 14.5 million people on Thursday evening. The debate crystallized that this is now essentially a three-person show: Donald Trump, Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Marco Rubio.  And things really got hot, as the gloves came off. 

Tahoe Lake Level Rising, Snowpack near Average

Even with temperatures hovering between 5 and 14 degrees above normal for the region, snowpack water content has remained close to average thanks to a strong start to winter.

“(Lake level has) climbed up a decent amount the last couple months,” National Weather Service Reno office senior hydrologist Tim Bardsley said, describing the current level as 0.77 feet below the natural rim. 

Still no resolution for Oak Ridge principal

First they were patient, then hopeful. Now many parents are fuming that Oak Ridge Principal Paul Burke has been on paid administrative leave for nearly half the school year without resolution for undisclosed personnel matters.

On Tuesday evening El Dorado Union High School District Board of Trustees President Dave Del Rio reported out of a nearly three-hour closed session that no personnel action would be taken regarding Burke, delaying the issue yet again despite several previous board meetings devoted to it and an outside consulting firm hired to help.
