Placerville, CA (June 1)...Following a scheduled Saturday off for Memorial Day weekend, which came on the heels of a rainout on May 21st, Placerville Speedway roars back into action this Saturday night, June 4th with "Riebes Auto Parts" night. The 8th scheduled point race of the 2016 Red Hawk Casino Championship Season, the evening will feature a four division program that includes the Thompson’s Auto Group 360 Sprint Cars, the Domco Plumbing Limited Late Models, the Jay's Mobile Welding and Fabricating Pure Stocks, as well as the BCRA Midget Lite Series.

“We are looking forward to getting back into action this weekend”, stated promoter Scott Russell. “With all the rain we’ve seen, it’s been hard to establish any kind of rhythm with the race track. We are hoping to get some races in and pick up some momentum as we head into the busiest time of the year on the schedule”.

With five races completed in the Red Hawk Casino Championship season, Princeton, California’s Mason Moore remains ahead in the Thompson’s Auto Group 360 Sprint Car division with a commanding 52 point lead over defending track champion Greg DeCaires of Elk Grove. Veteran Jimmy Trulli sits third in points, 74 markers behind the leader, while Justin Johnson sits fourth, and 14 year old Michael Kofoid holds down 5th.

In the Domco Plumbing Limited Late Model division, Sacramento's Eddie Gardner leads Tyler Lightfoot by a scant 2 points, despite having just one top five finish in 5 starts. Will McMillan holds down the 3rd position over Mike Lightfoot, while Ryan McDaniel sits fifth despite missing the last event on May 14. McDaniel sits just 38 points behind point leader Gardner.

Nick Baldwin of Oakley, California leads the Jay’s Mobile Welding and Fabricating Pure Stock division over Scott Grunert, who sits 12 points behind the leader. Behind Grunert, Dan Smith, Dan Jinkerson, and Jason Palmer round out the top five, with the second through fifth place competitors separated by just 5 points.

The BCRA Midget Lites return for the fourth time in 2016. Kyle Offill leads the series back to the tight little 1/4 mile at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, having won 2 of the 3 events thus far. May 7th winner Charlie Caraccilo is also expected to be on hand, along with Craig Dillard, Scotty Males, and the rest of the BCRA regulars. Pit gates will open at 2PM with the front gates opening at 3PM. Racing begins at 7PM.

In addition, RMI is pleased to announce that it has secured a rain date for its Placerville Posse event originally rained out on April 9th. The Saturday July 2nd event will now be the third event in the four races series, which takes place just a week after the Posse event on June 25th. The rescheduled "Fan Appreciation Day" Car Show, is also set to coincide with the June 25th event, and will take place from noon to 3pm at the Thompson's Buick/GMC location on Placerville Drive.
