Pleasant Valley Grange Fire Safe Council Wants Your Help!

by Placerville Newswire / Mar 02, 2016 / comments

The Pleasant Valley Grange Fire Safe Council, in cooperation with the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council, is updating the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for the Pleasant Valley area. The CWPP is an essential “first step” in seeking grant funding for projects that will help protect the people, pets and homes in our neighborhoods.

On Sunday, March 13th at 1:00 pm you will have an opportunity to participate in this effort and provide input. A large scale map that identifies parcels, vegetation and terrain will be displayed. The map will be used for you to identify areas of concern (excessive vegetation buildup, dangerous roadside conditions etc.) You will be ask to “mark-up” the map with your concerns.

The information you provide will be integrated with input from County Fire, CAL FIRE and other participants to scope potential project areas and start preparing for grant opportunities.

This effort is funded by a SRA grant to the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council. Your community results will be included in the plan for the western slope of El Dorado County. Pleasant Valley will retain a separate identity and section in the plan.
The project is expected to be complete by February 2017.
