Probation Officer Shannon Murphy Awarded 2017 EDH Rotary Public Safety Officer of the Year

The El Dorado Hills Rotary Club has honored El Dorado County Deputy Probation Officer Shannon Murphy as the 2017 Public Safety Officer of the Year for her exemplary work and service to the community. Club President Robert Leon presented the award in June.

Chief Probation Officer Brian Richart told the audience that Murphy represents the best of the Probation Department and he was pleased she could be honored in the El Dorado Hills community she calls home. Murphy’s accolades include having a deep level of care and concern for the community and putting full effort forth to assist at-risk youth.

Chief Probation Officer Richart continued, “She puts so much care and compassion into making sure that youth on her caseload are actually getting the services they need to be successful.”

Previously employed as a community services officer for the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, Murphy has worked for the Probation Department for the last nine years. Her current assignment is juvenile field supervision.
