Sheriff Goes Extra Mile to Patrol Railway Corridor with Electric Motorcycles

The rural, and sometimes remote, recreational Railway Corridor is restricted to non-motorized use, even for the Sheriff, but it is also a hotbed for crime.  So the Sheriff purchased two Zero electric motorcycles on patrol which will be purchased with an Air Quality grant.

The rail corridor prohibits motorized use.

This Friday the Sheriff's Office began its patrols of the railway corridor from Missouri Flat to Folsom. In cooperation with County Parks and Trails, a grant was obtained to restore this corridor for hiking, biking, horseback riding and excursion rail use.

The Sheriff's Office used grant funds to purchase two Husqvarna motorcycles for these patrols and a team is being assembled.

The Sheriff writes, "If you live along the railway and see us riding by, flag us down and we'll be happy to share with you our mission with this project."
