A multi-agency raid was triggered by an investigation into home burglaries in El Dorado County and residential break-ins and car thefts in Sacramento.  Those investigations led officers to a large property in the country near Somerset in El Dorado County.

On Tuesday Deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and The California Highway Patrol orchestrated a raid that included 35 officers, police dogs and the CHP’s helicopter crew.

By the end of the raid officers had recovered 22 vehicles including cars, trailers, off-road vehicles, motorcycles, travel trailers and construction equipment.  A CHP news release noted that some of the vehicles were hidden in the forest.

No arrests have been made yet, but weapons and ammunition were recovered from the property.

A neighbor reported: "I saw first hand these LE officers worked their asses off to help us neighbors out. To help keep us safe. They were there for 13 hours. In the pouring rain. Crawling thru poison oak and acres of junk. They never took a break. And THIS was not the first day they had worked on it! ...  Its been a scary few months....."

This investigation is ongoing and further information will be reported as it becomes available.
