While forest lands remain accessible in many places, access and services will be limited, and many facilities will not operate through the winter.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"1848\">What is closing and when<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"1850\" data-end=\"3090\">\n<li data-start=\"1850\" data-end=\"2092\">\n<p data-start=\"1852\" data-end=\"2092\"><strong data-start=\"1852\" data-end=\"1898\">Campgrounds and developed recreation sites<\/strong>: For example, the Mokelumne Campground on the Eldorado National Forest is slated to close on or around <strong data-start=\"2002\" data-end=\"2020\">Sept. 28, 2025<\/strong>, subject to weather conditions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2093\" data-end=\"2390\">\n<p data-start=\"2095\" data-end=\"2390\"><strong data-start=\"2095\" data-end=\"2143\">Roads &amp; trails (native surface \/ dirt roads)<\/strong>: There is a forest-wide annual closure on unpaved, native\u2010surface roads and trails from <strong data-start=\"2232\" data-end=\"2268\">Jan. 1 through at least March 31<\/strong>, with the possibility of extension depending on snow, soil moisture, and weather<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2391\" data-end=\"2636\">\n<p data-start=\"2393\" data-end=\"2636\"><strong data-start=\"2393\" data-end=\"2420\">Seasonal early closures<\/strong>: In some years, closures begin earlier (e.g. December 1) on dirt roads and motorized trails to protect watershed integrity and avoid damage from mud, snow melt, or saturation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2637\" data-end=\"2850\">\n<p data-start=\"2639\" data-end=\"2850\"><strong data-start=\"2639\" data-end=\"2659\">Other facilities<\/strong>: Developed sites such as restrooms, picnic areas, boat ramps, interpretive structures, and cabin rentals may close earlier or when conditions warrant.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2851\" data-end=\"3090\">\n<p data-start=\"2853\" data-end=\"3090\"><strong data-start=\"2853\" data-end=\"2881\">Exceptions &amp; variability<\/strong>: A few facilities may remain open, especially those at lower elevations or operated independently.
