The long-running tradition gathers new, unwrapped toys for children across the county, with deputies delivering the donations in the Sheriff\u2019s Office armored rescue vehicle, known as the Bearcat.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"618\" data-end=\"1001\">For many in El Dorado County, the event has become a symbol of service, gratitude, and generosity. Sheriff <strong data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"741\">Jeff Leikauf<\/strong> said the program reflects the department\u2019s ongoing commitment to building community.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"618\" data-end=\"1001\">\u201c<em data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"927\">It\u2019s one of our favorite traditions and a powerful reminder of what community truly is all about,<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"618\" data-end=\"1001\">Leikauf said in a public statement encouraging residents to participate.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1003\" data-end=\"1395\">The toy drive runs from <strong data-start=\"1027\" data-end=\"1050\">5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.<\/strong> at the Food Bank, located at <strong data-start=\"1080\" data-end=\"1119\">4550 Business Drive in Cameron Park<\/strong>. Donors are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys suitable for children of all ages. After the event, sheriff\u2019s deputies will distribute the gifts to low-income neighborhoods throughout the county\u2014reaching families who might otherwise go without a holiday celebration this year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1397\" data-end=\"1681\">Organizers say the need has grown in recent seasons as housing costs, inflation, and economic pressure affect working families.
