PLACERVILLE<\/strong> –<\/em> In a significant move toward environmental sustainability, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted $653,120 to the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians. The funds, allocated under President Biden’s Investing in America agenda, are aimed at bolstering recycling infrastructure, fostering employment opportunities, and enhancing circular waste management both on and off Tribal land.<\/p>\n

EPA Pacific Southwest Regional Administrator Martha Guzman expressed pride in awarding the grant, emphasizing its potential to elevate recycling rates and address waste removal challenges on Tribal land. Guzman stated,<\/p>\n
