(April 21, 2025)<\/strong> \u2014 As the Trump administration advances efforts to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education, local educators in El Dorado County express cautious concern over potential impacts on special education services.<\/span><\/p>\n Ginese Quann, Special Education Director for the El Dorado County Office of Education and overseer of the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA), which supports 464 California charter schools, acknowledges the uncertainty but remains measured in her response.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n \u201cSpecial education funding has always been in flux,\u201d Quann stated.<\/span> \u201cThe state has its own systems for monitoring and enforcing the program.
