It means the cause isn\u2019t immediately known.<br \/>\nThe Sheriff\u2019s Log will reflect these cases simply as \u201cDead Person\u201d entries until the coroner and pathologist determine if the cause was natural or otherwise. Most turn out to be from natural causes \u2014 stroke, heart failure, aneurysm \u2014 but there\u2019s no guessing in the death business.
