SACRAMENTO —
A statewide taxpayer advocacy organization has entered California’s 3rd Congressional District race, endorsing candidate Christine Bish ahead of the June 2 primary election.
The California Taxpayer Protection Committee announced its unanimous support this week, backing Bish, a financial investigator and businesswoman, as the contest intensifies across a district that includes portions of El Dorado County.
“Christine Bish is a financial investigator with real-world experience exposing fraud,”
said Tom Hudson, president of the organization.
“At a time of unprecedented waste, fraud and abuse in government programs, we need proven fraud fighters like Christine Bish in Congress.”
The endorsement adds to a growing list of support from taxpayer-focused and conservative organizations. The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association political action committee also lists Bish among its endorsed candidates for the 2026 primary election.
Bish is among several candidates competing in the nonpartisan primary for California’s 3rd Congressional District, where voters across El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Nevada counties will help determine who advances to the general election.
According to state election records, California’s primary election is scheduled for June 2, with ballots already being distributed to voters statewide.
Hudson said the committee’s decision reflects concerns about government spending and accountability.
“It’s time to stop electing vote-buying politicians who turn a blind eye to waste,” he said. “We need leaders committed to fiscal responsibility and limited government.”
The California Taxpayer Protection Committee describes itself as a nonpartisan organization focused on reducing government spending, lowering taxes and promoting fiscal reform.
For voters in El Dorado County, the endorsement highlights the increasing attention on District 3, a region that has historically leaned conservative but remains competitive depending on turnout and candidate field dynamics.
Ballots must be returned by June 2.
