WEST SLOPE / PLACERVILLE
A domestic violence collar on Woodridge Court kicked off the county log when Placerville Police hauled in Julian Acostacruz just before midnight Tuesday.
On Broadway, probation violator James Allen Drake was picked up by county probation officers, while parolee Jeffrey Michael Ellsworth was remanded by state corrections in a separate felony hold.
CHP worked Lo Hi Way in Placerville and nailed Gerald Joseph Leal Jr. on drug possession, narcotics use, and a drugged-driving rap after a roadside stop Wednesday morning.
By evening, deputies on Antelope Road cracked open what looked like a narcotics operation, booking Laisha Monique Carrillo and Dustin Coltonchase Soltero on conspiracy and drug-sales charges.
Soltero also caught a transportation-for-sale count, the heavier paper in the pair.
Out on Highway 50 westbound, Kimberly Ann Camera landed in county jail on misdemeanor DUI alcohol charges after a nighttime traffic stop.
Most of the felony arrests carried bail ranging from $40,000 to $60,000, with narcotics and violence charges leading the sheet.
By midnight, the jail roster read like an old crime desk carbon copy — domestic beefs, dope traffic, parole violations, and drunks behind the wheel.
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE
South Lake Tahoe Police stayed busy Wednesday with three separate felony arrests tied to violence and threats.
Alvaro Jesus Martinezperez and Evangeline Uschold Larosa were each booked on domestic violence charges in unrelated incidents hours apart.
Later in the afternoon, officers arrested David Michael Mckinsey on a felony criminal-threats charge after an incident on Al Tahoe Boulevard.
Mckinsey drew the stiffest bail on the Tahoe side of the ledger at $60,000.
The Tahoe arrests painted a familiar picture for spring policing in the basin — domestic calls turning criminal and tempers boiling over.
Addresses stretched from Ruby Way to Lake Tahoe Boulevard and Al Tahoe Boulevard, giving officers a full sweep across town.
All three suspects remained in custody after booking.
Another day in the basin books: loud arguments, hard threats, steel bracelets.
