Motorcyclist Airlifted After Serious Crash at Marshall and Prospectors in El Dorado County

GARDEN VALLEY, Calif. By Cris Alarcon, InEDC Writer. (May 6, 2025) — A motorcyclist sustained major injuries Monday evening following a collision at the intersection of Marshall Road and Prospectors Road in Garden Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The incident occurred around 6:24 p.m., when the motorcycle reportedly collided with the rear of a car under circumstances that remain under investigation. El Dorado County sheriff’s deputies and local firefighters responded promptly to the scene.

Emergency medical personnel assessed the motorcyclist’s condition and requested an air ambulance due to the severity of the injuries. The rider was subsequently airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released, and no updates on their condition were available at the time of this report.

Family members of the injured motorcyclist arrived at the scene and took possession of the motorcycle.

The CHP is actively investigating the cause of the crash. Authorities have not indicated whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.

Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to contact the California Highway Patrol’s Placerville office.
