The Crossings at El Dorado RV Resort and Campground is an upcoming development in Placerville, California, designed to offer a comprehensive and upscale camping experience. Located near the Missouri Flat Road interchange of Highway 50, this project is part of a larger 70-acre, $65 million initiative aiming to add 400,000 square feet of retail space and create approximately 1,000 new jobs in El Dorado County.

Planned Amenities

The resort’s main building is set to include a variety of facilities to cater to guests’ needs:

  • General Store

  • Business Center

  • Fitness Center

  • Clubhouse

  • Commercial Kitchen

Additionally, the amenities core will feature a swimming pool and a bocce ball court, enhancing the recreational options available to visitors.

Development Details

The project is undergoing several planning modifications to better align with its recreational focus:Engage El Dorado

  • A General Plan Amendment to remove the proposed Headington Road extension.

  • Rezoning from Commercial, Regional (CR-PD) to Recreational Facilities, High-Intensity (RFH-PD).

  • A Planned Development Revision to adjust site usage, building setbacks, and signage.

  • A Conditional Use Permit to allow operations such as an RV resort, campground, hotel (exceeding the 35-foot height limit), and extended hours for the swimming pool and pickleball courts.

  • An Administrative Permit for features like an on-site manager’s apartment, pickleball courts, swimming pool, and perimeter gates. Engage El Dorado

These changes reflect the developers’ commitment to creating a high-quality recreational facility that meets both guest expectations and community standards.

Location and Accessibility

Situated at 3916 Missouri Flat Road, the resort benefits from excellent accessibility via four curb cuts and two signalized intersections. Its proximity to popular destinations such as Lake Tahoe, El Dorado National Forest, local wineries, and Apple Hill Orchards positions it as an attractive option for tourists seeking a blend of nature and convenience.
