GEORGETOWN, Calif. — A routine stop at a local gas station turned into a life-changing event for one lucky customer who purchased a California Lottery Scratchers ticket worth $5 million.

The winning ticket was sold at Georgetown Gas & Go, a family-owned business located in the heart of El Dorado County. The store, operated by owner Alissa Cimino and managed by Randy, has been a staple in the community for years.

“We are thrilled to have sold a winning ticket,”

said Alissa Cimino.

“It’s exciting not just for the winner but for our entire community.”

The California Lottery has confirmed the sale of the winning ticket but has not yet released the identity of the winner. According to lottery officials, the retailer will receive a $25,000 bonus for selling the top-prize ticket.

This marks one of the largest lottery wins in El Dorado County’s recent history. The odds of winning a $5 million prize on a Scratchers ticket are approximately 1 in 3 million, making this a rare and notable event.

The California Lottery continues to encourage players to play responsibly and reminds winners to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in a safe place until they can claim their prize.
