March 19, 2026)<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"9fjuzm\" data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"632\">PLACERVILLE, Calif. \u2014<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"633\" data-end=\"868\">Residents, developers and public agencies in <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">El Dorado County<\/span><\/span> now have access to a <a href=\"https:\/\/experience.arcgis.com\/experience\/58a5b752c549418285583fc4c0301c29\">new, modernized geographic information system<\/a> as county officials prepare to retire a decades-old platform at the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"1135\">The County Surveyor\u2019s Office has officially launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/experience.arcgis.com\/experience\/58a5b752c549418285583fc4c0301c29\"><strong data-start=\"927\" data-end=\"945\">EDC GIS Viewer<\/strong><\/a>, a web-based mapping tool designed to replace the long-standing GOTNET system. The transition marks a significant upgrade in how property and geographic data are accessed across the county.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1137\" data-end=\"1369\">According to county officials, the legacy GOTNET platform will be permanently decommissioned after March 31, 2026. Users are being encouraged to transition immediately to avoid disruption in accessing parcel and mapping information.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1371\" data-end=\"1715\">The new GIS Viewer allows users to search for property information by address or Assessor\u2019s Parcel Number (APN), providing streamlined access to ownership details, parcel boundaries and other key geographic data. The platform is intended to serve a broad audience, including residents, real estate professionals, surveyors and government staff.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1717\" data-end=\"2093\">In tandem with the viewer, the county has also launched a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=D&amp;q=https:\/\/gis-eldoradocounty.hub.arcgis.com\/&amp;ust=1773990300000000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2b3PMwKKts2-QQbF2VAuCu&amp;hl=en&amp;source=gmail\"><strong data-start=\"1775\" data-end=\"1793\">Geospatial Hub<\/strong><\/a>, a centralized online portal connecting users to a wide range of mapping and data resources. The hub includes access to the county\u2019s Open Data catalog, which offers free, downloadable GIS datasets in multiple formats suitable for mapping software, analytics platforms and other digital applications.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2095\" data-end=\"2218\">Officials say the upgrade reflects a broader effort to modernize public access to government data and improve transparency.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2220\" data-end=\"2521\">\u201cThese tools give the community faster, clearer access to essential geographic information,\u201d said Jennifer Carlton, senior GIS analyst for the county. \u201cBy modernizing our systems, we\u2019re making it easier for residents, businesses and County staff to find the data they need to make informed decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2523\" data-end=\"2786\">The Open Data catalog, available through the Geospatial Hub, enables users to preview and download authoritative datasets maintained by the county.
