PLACERVILLE, Calif. \u2014 El Dorado County voters are entering the final month before California\u2019s June 2, 2026 gubernatorial primary election, with mail ballots scheduled to begin arriving in mailboxes starting May 4.<\/p>\n
County election officials say all active registered voters in California will automatically receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the primary election. The election includes statewide offices, judicial contests, county races, supervisor seats, and local measures.<\/p>\n
According to the California Secretary of State and the El Dorado County Elections Department, the final day to register to vote online or by mail for the June 2 election is May 18. Voters who miss that deadline may still “Conditionally” register and cast a provisional ballot at a vote center through Election Day.<\/p>\n
El Dorado County Elections officials announced ballots will be mailed to active registered voters beginning May 4, the same day county ballot drop boxes officially open.<\/p>\n
Early in-person voting also begins later in the month. Eleven-day vote centers are scheduled to open May 23, while additional four-day vote centers open May 30. All vote centers countywide will operate from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, June 2.<\/p>\n

What Local Races Are on the Ballot?<\/h2>\n
Several countywide and district races are drawing local attention in El Dorado County.<\/p>\n
El Dorado County Board of Supervisors<\/h3>\n
Two Board of Supervisors seats are on the June ballot:<\/p>\n

- District 4:<\/strong> Four candidates are reportedly seeking the seat being vacated by Supervisor Lori Parlin.<\/li>\n
- District 5:<\/strong> Supervisor Brooke Laine is running unopposed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Treasurer-Tax Collector<\/h3>\n
One of the county\u2019s most visible contested races is for El Dorado County Treasurer-Tax Collector.<\/p>\n
Candidates include:<\/p>\n

- Sean Coppola<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, the appointed incumbent Treasurer-Tax Collector<\/li>\n
- Corey Leikauf<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, a financial auditor challenging for the office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The office oversees county banking, investments, and tax collection operations.<\/p>\n
Other County Offices on the Ballot<\/h3>\n

The El Dorado County Elections Department encourages voters to verify registration status, review sample ballots, and locate vote centers through the county elections website.<\/p>\n
Election officials are also reminding voters that completed mail ballots can be returned by mail, deposited in official drop boxes, or delivered directly to vote centers.<\/p>\n
