{"id":13315,"date":"2026-07-06T20:13:47","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T04:13:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/inedc.com\/26\/?p=13315"},"modified":"2026-07-06T20:13:47","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T04:13:47","slug":"fiddletown-man-booked-on-felony-dui-manslaughter-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/inedc.com\/26\/crime\/fiddletown-man-booked-on-felony-dui-manslaughter-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"Fiddletown Man Booked on Felony DUI, Manslaughter Charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1441\"><strong data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1187\">EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif.<\/strong> \u2014 A 61-year-old Fiddletown man was booked into the El Dorado County Jail Sunday evening after the California Highway Patrol arrested him on felony charges of driving under the influence causing bodily injury and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1443\" data-end=\"1651\">According to official El Dorado County Jail records, <strong data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1516\">David Dellaquila<\/strong>, 61, of Fiddletown, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol at approximately <strong data-start=\"1600\" data-end=\"1628\">8:05 p.m. Sunday, July 5<\/strong>, on <strong data-start=\"1633\" data-end=\"1650\">Fairplay Road<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1653\" data-end=\"1696\">He was booked under two felony allegations:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1698\" data-end=\"1950\">\n<li data-section-id=\"nzxb7y\" data-start=\"1698\" data-end=\"1825\"><strong data-start=\"1700\" data-end=\"1769\">Vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated without gross negligence<\/strong> in violation of California Penal Code Section 191.5(b).<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"11dpoc5\" data-start=\"1826\" data-end=\"1950\"><strong data-start=\"1828\" data-end=\"1892\">Driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury<\/strong> in violation of California Vehicle Code Section 23153(a).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1952\" data-end=\"2132\">Jail records show Dellaquila remains in custody with total bail set at <strong data-start=\"2023\" data-end=\"2035\">$150,000<\/strong>, including $100,000 for the vehicular manslaughter charge and $50,000 for the felony DUI charge.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2134\" data-end=\"2198\">The California Highway Patrol is listed as the arresting agency.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2200\" data-end=\"2465\">Under California law, <strong data-start=\"2222\" data-end=\"2253\">Penal Code Section 191.5(b)<\/strong> applies when prosecutors allege a person, while driving under the influence, committed an unlawful act or otherwise acted negligently, resulting in another person&#8217;s death without the element of gross negligence.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2467\" data-end=\"2708\">As of publication, authorities have not publicly released additional information regarding the collision, including the identity or condition of any victims, the exact location along Fairplay Road, or the circumstances leading to the arrest.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2710\" data-end=\"2801\">The California Highway Patrol has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2803\" data-end=\"2880\">\n<p data-start=\"2805\" data-end=\"2880\">&#8220;All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2882\" data-end=\"3030\">This is a developing story.
