El Dorado County (May 11, 2024) – Kathi Jensen Sworn in as Trustee for El Dorado County Board of Education<\/p>\n

In a recent session of the El Dorado County Board of Education held on May 7, Kathi Jensen took the oath of office as the new Trustee representing District 5. The appointment follows a rigorous selection process wherein the Board conducted public interviews with numerous highly qualified candidates.<\/p>\n

Adam Clark, the President of the Board, commented on the challenging decision-making process, stating,<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Kathi\u2019s unique blend of experience and skills stood out, perfectly complementing the existing strengths of the Board, particularly in the crucial area of student equity.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jensen’s confirmation by the Board Trustees was unanimous.<\/p>\n

Expressing her commitment to public education, Jensen stated,<\/p>\n

“My commitment to public education in this county has encompassed my entire career. I have worked in our highest performing schools and schools that struggle with challenges. I want to ensure that our brightest and struggling students excel to their full potential.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

With over 35 years of experience as an educator, Jensen brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role. She has a commendable track record of community service and leadership in educational initiatives, including 25 years on the executive board of the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe. Her collaboration with the Lake Tahoe Unified School District has been instrumental in delivering vital programs benefiting over 400 students through grant monies.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Jensen has served as a member of the Citizens Oversight Committee at Lake Tahoe Community College for the past two years, ensuring the proper expenditure of bond funding and transparency to the public following the passage of measure F.<\/p>\n

Dr. Ed Manansala, El Dorado County Superintendent of Schools, expressed his pleasure in welcoming Kathi Jensen to the Board of Education, highlighting her extensive background as an educator and proven leadership in community-based educational programs.
