(March 12, 2025) \u2014 In a concerted effort to uphold justice and public safety, El Dorado County law enforcement officials successfully opposed the early release of convicted murderer Jaime Ramos during a parole hearing held on February 27, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Ramos was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison in 2010 for the brutal murder of Ronald Presba on June 24, 2008. Ramos attacked Presba from behind with a hammer, placed his body in a car, set it ablaze, and sent it over a cliff in an attempt to conceal the crime.<\/p>\n<p>Despite serving only 16 years of his sentence, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation granted Ramos a parole hearing. The hearing was attended by Presba&#8217;s family members and original investigators from the El Dorado County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, who delivered impactful statements opposing Ramos&#8217;s release.
