(Aug 6, 2025, 2025)<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"850\" data-end=\"1238\">PLACERVILLE, Calif. \u2014 <strong data-start=\"872\" data-end=\"890\">Tiffany Schmid<\/strong>, El\u202fDorado County\u2019s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), announced in an email dated <strong data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"992\">July\u202f15, 2025<\/strong>, that she will resign effective <strong data-start=\"1025\" data-end=\"1036\">Aug.\u202f15<\/strong> after 11 years with the county. Supervisors are expected to consider appointing <strong data-start=\"1117\" data-end=\"1132\">Sue Hennike<\/strong> as acting CAO beginning <strong data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1168\">Aug.\u202f16<\/strong>, pending formal Board approval.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1240\" data-end=\"1763\">Schmid\u2019s career with the county began in <strong data-start=\"1281\" data-end=\"1289\">2014<\/strong> as a principal planner for the Community Development Agency. She became a principal management analyst in the Chief Administrative Office in <strong data-start=\"1431\" data-end=\"1439\">2016<\/strong> and then advanced to director of the Planning and Building Department in <strong data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1521\">2018<\/strong>. In <strong data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"1543\">November 2021<\/strong>, she was named assistant CAO. After serving as interim CAO for three months upon Don Ashton\u2019s departure, the Board of Supervisors appointed Schmid as permanent CAO in <strong data-start=\"1711\" data-end=\"1724\">June 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1765\" data-end=\"1807\">In her resignation letter, Schmid wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1808\" data-end=\"2085\">\n<p data-start=\"1810\" data-end=\"2085\">\u201cAfter 11 years of dedicated service to the County, seven of which have been executive leadership positions culminating as Chief Administrative Officer, it is time to focus on my family and friends who have been patiently supporting me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2087\" data-end=\"2099\">She added:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2100\" data-end=\"2350\">\n<p data-start=\"2102\" data-end=\"2350\">\u201cI am honored to have worked with such an amazing group of people, proud of the important work we have accomplished, and am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served the residents of El Dorado County.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2352\" data-end=\"2640\">The timing of Schmid\u2019s resignation comes as the Board likely evaluates the next administrative steps and begins its search for a permanent CAO.
