The day broke with shadows. Just after midnight, deputies fielded calls of prowlers at a Mercedes lot in El Dorado Hills, a suspicious car at Ables Acres, and a string of noise complaints before dawn.
By morning, the grind turned civil: standbys and paperwork at courthouses, jails, and apartments across Placerville, Pollock Pines, and Cameron Park.
At 9:43, Walmart reported a trespasser; at 10:03, tempers flared on Black Rock Lane in Cool, deputies filing a report.
Late morning brought thefts and fraud—grand theft in Cameron Park, identity theft in South Lake Tahoe, and a vehicle burglary tied to an outdoor outfitter on New River Road.
Midday turned busy with suspicious characters at Hassler Road, Bonfare, and Walmart; officers checked, cleared, or assisted. Reports of scams, exchanges, and identity theft filled the log between Placerville and Tahoe.
Afternoon rolled in more heat: a battery call from a school in El Dorado Hills, shouting matches on Polly Lane and Cougar Trail, and a burglary complaint from Bentley Drive in Rescue.
By evening, deputies collared a suspicious subject on Racquet Way in Diamond Springs, later assisted drunks, vandals, and rowdy parties across the county.
The day closed near midnight with burglary on Kelsey Road and an ordinance violation in South Lake Tahoe—another 24 hours of noise, theft, tempers, and too much whiskey.
