HOMEWOOD, Calif. — On the sparkling shores of Lake Tahoe’s West Shore, the 2025 Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance returned to Obexer’s Boat Company with a display of mahogany, chrome, and craftsmanship that drew wooden boat enthusiasts from across the country. This year’s event, held August 8–9, spotlighted the Century Boats 100th Anniversary as its Marque Class, honoring a century of sleek design and American boatbuilding heritage.

Presented by the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation, the two-day show featured more than 70 expertly restored wooden boats—each a floating work of art. From pre-war runabouts to postwar cruisers, the event was a celebration of maritime excellence and Lake Tahoe’s deep-rooted boating culture.

“This event isn’t just about the boats; it’s about preserving a tradition that has been alive on these waters for over a century,”

said Carol Russell, Executive Director of the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation.

The weekend festivities kicks off Friday, August 8, with the Concours d’Elegance Show from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., alongside the Concours Wine Village from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For evening guests, the Awards BBQ at 6:00 p.m. offered fine food and camaraderie under the Sierra pines (reservations required).

Saturday, August 9, opens with Terry’s Tour at 8:30 a.m., offering a guided behind-the-scenes look at select boats (separate pass required). The boat show resums at 9:00 a.m., with wine tastings continuing from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The day concludes with a fan-favorite: the Olson Bridge at Roar Off, where engines fired and hulls skimmed the lake in one last parade of horsepower.

Obexer’s Boat Company—Tahoe’s first marina, founded in 1911—serves as the perfect backdrop, anchoring the event in a legacy of wooden boat culture that continues to thrive.

Proceeds from the Concours support the foundation’s mission to preserve Tahoe’s boating heritage and to fund local youth maritime education programs. For more information, visit www.laketahoeconcours.com.
